This page contains important information on all the steps necessary to prepare for your enrollment this spring. Transfer Admission and Enrollment Service’s goal is to help you navigate the extensive network of academic resources available to you as a student. Read more to learn what is ahead as you prepare to join LMU for the upcoming semester. You can use the headers below to serve as your checklist as you transition to LMU.
The next step toward your enrollment at LMU is to submit your $250 Commitment Deposit.
To pay your deposit, log into your Application Status page, using the credentials provided when you applied. Click the “Yes, I am Ready to Accept Admission” button, then click the “Submit Your Deposit” link on the next screen and follow the onscreen prompts. You must complete both of these steps to commit and secure your position at LMU.
Please do this within 3 weeks of acceptance or December 1—whichever comes first. Deposits submitted electronically or postmarked after the deadline can be honored only if space remains available.
This deposit is non-refundable and is not applied toward any student expenses.

The Financial Aid Office offers a number of resources to help you finance your LMU education.
The first and most important step to applying for financial aid is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA. Submit your 2019-2020 FAFSA to LMU no later than November 15, 2019. The FAFSA is available at www.fafsa.ed.gov; when you complete the FAFSA, please enter LMU's school code number: 001234. Be sure to complete the 2019-2020 FAFSA, not the 2020-2021 FAFSA, which will also be an option if you visit www.fafsa.ed.gov after October 1.
Once you complete your FAFSA, within a few days you will see it acknowledged as received within the Financial Aid tab of your Application Status Page. When your financial aid award letter is available, it will be mailed to your home address and uploaded to your Application Status Page. You may also review any other missing requirements on the Financial Aid tab of the Application Status Page. The Financial Aid Office may communicate to you directly by email, so please be attentive to any missing requirements and email communication you receive from LMU.
Don't forget to submit your final high school transcript, if you have not already done so. This is a requirement to receive any federal financial aid. For more information about LMU's financial aid programs, please visit the Financial Aid website. Contact the Financial Aid Office if you have any questions or concerns.
MyLMU serves as your daily online destination for everything LMU. Over the coming months, you will occasionally be directed to MyLMU to access important information and systems.
Once classes begin in the spring, your use of MyLMU will expand to include access to university services and information, including your university email, calendar, news, events and much more. You will also use MyLMU to register for classes, to sign up for on campus housing, to request parking permits or to just catch up on your favorite news feed or sports scores.
Here is how you create and activate your MyLMU account:
- Go to MyLMU, and on the login page, click on Password Reset tool.
- Enter all information requested on the screen.
- Please use the first name and last name that you used on your LMU application. You will need the last four digits of your Social Security Number. If you did not provide a Social Security Number on your application, the system will not recognize this, and you will need the last four digits of your LMU ID instead.
- Once completed, click Confirm Identity. Your username will be displayed: You will need this to login.
- Create and confirm your password and click on “Set My Password” (password must be at least 8 characters and have one capital letter and one numeric character to be valid).
MyLMU facilitates a "single sign on" to other LMU systems. Login to MyLMU with your username and the password you have created. Look for the menu bar at the top of the page that has six top-level categories - Academics, Accounts & Tech, Administration, Employment, Campus Life, and About LMU. Click there, and any systems to which you have access will appear in the drop down lists. Click on any of them and you will go directly to your account – no further log in will be needed, this time or in future visits.
The first time you login, some of the content and terms may be unfamiliar. Not to worry – browse around, and pretty soon you will begin to feel at home. If you are unable to log in, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, with MyLMU login in the subject line, and we will get back to you in 24 hours, sooner if we can, or on Monday if you email us over the weekend.
All transfer students who have sent their commitment deposit to LMU will receive an email from the Student Housing Office, providing detailed information about living in university housing. If you are interested in living on campus, please pay careful attention to this information – it will include all of the instructions on how to apply for housing.
To apply for on-campus housing, you must complete three required steps:
- Complete and submit the online housing application. The housing application provides the opportunity to rank your housing preferences as well as answer profile questions that assist with pairing you with a roommate who is likely to share your interests.
2. Acknowledge (electronically) the License Agreement, which spells out your obligations and responsibilities as a resident of university housing.
- Submit the non-refundable $400 housing deposit.
Housing assignments will be made once all required application materials have been submitted to the Student Housing Office.
Please note housing is not guaranteed for transfer students entering in the spring semester. Transfer students are assigned housing as space becomes available and, in some instances, this may be right before the semester begins. Housing assignments are made on a first-come, first-serve basis so we encourage you to complete your application early.
The Office of the Registrar is working diligently to complete your transfer course evaluation. The average turnaround for a course evaluation is two weeks after acceptance to the University. Please note that courses completed at schools without an already established transfer equivalency may take slightly longer.
Once completed, your course evaluation will be posted to PROWL.
Please follow the steps below to access your Couse evaluation which demonstrates all transferable coursework.
- Login to your MyLMU account using your username and password – detailed instructions to access MyLMU are located above
- Under the Academics drop-down menu please locate PROWL
- Enter your temporary pin (birthday in 6 digit format, mmddyy)
- Update your PIN and add emergency contact and emergency alert information – note there will be a hold on your registration until this information is updated.
- Select Student Services
- Select Student Records
- Select Transfer Information
The evaluation contains courses grouped by colleges attended. The left column will demonstrate the course completed, and the right column will demonstrate the LMU equivalent, as well as any potential core requirements that have been satisfied. The number located at the bottom of the page will indicate the amount of units earned prior to attending LMU.
Once your transfer course evaluation in PROWL reflects the most up-to-date coursework you have completed (but not before), you are ready to speak with your advisor about registering for your LMU classes. Your advisor information can be found in the next section, "Advisement & Registration."
**If you do not see the entirety of your completed coursework reflected, please ensure you have submitted ALL up to date transcripts.
Note: LMU closes for the holidays on Friday, December 20 and reopens on Thursday, January 2.
Transfer student registration for the spring semester begins on December 2. It will continue through the end of the first week of classes, until Friday, January 17.
Regardless of when you register, all admitted students will be enrolled in a class schedule that meets your graduation requirements. An earlier registration time only promises more course options will be available.
Please keep in mind that LMU closes for the holidays on Friday, December 20 and reopens on Thursday, January 2. While you may still register during this period, there will not be any advisor assistance available.
Before you register, you must speak with your advisor. Once you have paid your Commitment Deposit and reviewed the most up-to-date evaluation of your transfer work in PROWL, you may contact your advisor beginning December 2 to schedule your advisement appointment.
***Please do not contact your advisor before December 2 and certainly not before your course evaluation is complete and visible in PROWL; advisors cannot assist you until your evaluation reflects the most up-to-date course information and you have reviewed the articulation.

HOW TO REGISTER
Information about using the registration system (PROWL) can be found online at the Registrar’s website. This information will include a link to PROWL where you will register for your courses after you consult with your advisor.
VIEW COURSE SCHEDULE AND DESCRIPTIONS
To view the schedule of courses in real-time, including up to date availability of every course, log in to your MyLMU account and click on the “Schedule of Courses” link, which will appear under “Academics” on the top navigation bar. Once you access the Schedule of Courses, you can click “Show Catalog Descriptions” to see the full course descriptions.
As an additional resource, University Advising can assist you with understanding our registration system and providing tools for a successful transition into the University community. They are NOT academic advisors but supplement the work of the colleges to ensure your academic success.

Please be prepared to attend the mandatory New Student Orientation on Friday, January 10, 2020. To view a full Schedule of Orientation Day, go to New Student Spring 2020 Orientation Schedule.
You will receive information and an invitation after we receive your Commitment Deposit. Orientation is a great way to learn more about the campus, meet fellow transfer students, and wrap up final details for the upcoming semester. While the Deans' and other offices on campus will be open during Orientation, please make every effort to take care of your registration and other important matters in advance. Your course selection options will be greater the earlier you take care of registration, and doing so will allow you to make the most of all the opportunities that Orientation will offer.
Note: If you are living on campus, you will be able to move into your residence on Thursday, January 9, 2020.
Completion of the Clifton StrengthsFinder assessment is required as part of your participation at New Student Orientation. Career and Professional Development will use your Clifton StrengthsFinder results during an in-person workshop at your January Orientation.
