Commitment:

Requirements for All BCLA Majors:
Complete a minimum of 30 semester units prior to the application deadline with a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA.
Additional Requirements for the Following Majors:
Psychology: Successfully complete General Psychology (PSYCH 1) and Statistics (MATH 54) with a grade of “B” or better at SMC in each course.
Economics: Successfully complete Microeconomics (ECON 1) and Macroeconomics (ECON 2) and Statistics (Math 54) with a grade of “B” or better at SMC in each course.
Political Science/International Relations: Complete an introductory course in this subject, with a grade of “B” or better at SMC. Minimum GPA for admission is 3.50.

Complete a minimum of 30 semester units prior to the application deadline with a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA.
Additional Requirements for the Following Majors:
Communication Studies: Successfully complete Argumentation and Debate (COM ST 21) and Interpersonal Communication (COM ST 35), with a grade of “B” or better in each course at SMC. Students must successfully demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of this major at LMU by specifically addressing their goals and expected outcomes related to this program of study in their application essay. Minimum 3.30 cumulative GPA.

Requirements for All CBA Majors:
Complete a minimum of 30 semester units prior to the application deadline with a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA. Successfully complete Business Calculus (MATH 28) with a “B” grade or better.

Requirements for All CSE Majors:
Students who complete a minimum of 30 transferable semester units prior to filing an application for admission to LMU with a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA and enroll full-time in consecutive terms at Santa Monica College with a minimum 3.00 GPA in one or both of those terms, will be guaranteed admission.
Majors with additional requirements and considerations:
- General Engineering (Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering (B.S.E.), Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering) – Students must meet all the above requirements for Seaver, plus successfully complete Calculus I (MATH 7) and Calculus II (MATH 8), Intro to Engineering (ENGR 1), General Chemistry 1 (CHEM 11) and Mechanics w/ Lab (PHYSCS 21) with a grade of “B” or better at Santa Monica College in each course.
- Math and Science (Applied Math, Applied Physics, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Health and Human Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Data Science) – Students must meet all the above requirements for Seaver, plus successfully complete Cell Biology and Evolution (BIOL 21), General Chemistry 1 (CHEM 11), General Chemistry 2 (CHEM 12) and Calculus I (Math 7) with a grade of “B” or better at Santa Monica College in each course.
- Computer Science (B.S.) – Students must meet all the above requirements for Seaver, plus successfully complete C++ Programming or Java Programming (CS 52 or CS 55), Data Structures w/ Java (CS 20B), plus successfully complete Calculus I (MATH 7) and Calculus II (MATH 8) with a grade of “B” or better at Santa Monica College in each course.
